Bosch hammer drill

Tools SN 3 601 JB4 000

Storage Location Home Basement Workbench Left cabinet

Receipt attached

Example view from soord: searching for “drill” finds the Bosch hammer drill in the Tools category, stored under Home → Basement → Workbench → Left cabinet, with an attached receipt.

Capture

Take a photo, pick a place, done. Category, description and custom fields such as serial number, price or weight come along when you need them — not because a form demands it.

Find again

The search covers name, category and description and ignores upper and lower case. Every result shows the full path to it — right down to the drawer.

Prove

Photos, receipts and values stay with the item. One click turns them into a PDF — for the insurer, the move or your own overview.

What people use soord for

Not for the collection. For the moment something is needed.

  • The basement that swallows everything

Winter tyres, paint tins, the second tool set. Recorded once, and the question “where was that again” is settled.

    Home Basement Shelf 3

  • The insurance claim

After water damage nobody asks what was roughly there. With a photo, receipt and value the list is ready in minutes.

    Home Living room Sideboard

  • The move

Plan boxes, assign items, unpack at the destination. The plan stays a plan until you say that packing is real.

Box 04 New flat / kitchen

  • The workshop

Screws, bits, spare parts — all in compartments that look like the cabinet on the wall. The compartment layout can be modelled too.

Four steps to your own inventory

No import, no weeks of setup. You start where it hurts most — and stop when it is enough.

01

Create places — as deep as your home really is

House, basement, shelf, drawer. On your first sign-in a setup assistant helps with templates for a flat or a house; after that you build on freely.

02

Record items — with a photo and what matters

Name, category, description, photos. Plus custom fields with unit and validation: serial number, purchase price, weight, barcode — you decide which ones an item should have.

03

Find again — search or tree

Type and find, or walk through the place structure: the crawler shows the whole hierarchy as a tree, with the path as breadcrumb navigation.

04

Prove — five lists as PDF

Inventory list, insurance list with values, packing list to tick off, box list and unpacking plan. Choose which places to include and download.

Places that follow your home — not a spreadsheet

Other lists know a field called “place”. soord knows the chain that leads there. Places can be nested to any depth, and every item carries its full path with it.

  • House → room → cabinet → drawer — with no fixed depth
  • Templates for flat and house as a starting point
  • Cabinet layouts model the compartment division, in a visual editor
  • A place moves — everything inside moves with it
A cabinet layout models the compartments; each compartment is a place in its own right.

What counts when it matters

An inventory only proves something once photo, receipt and value sit together — and can be printed.

Photos on the item

Several photos per item, stored encrypted on the server and decrypted for you only when retrieved.

Receipts and serial numbers

Custom fields with unit and validation record what belongs to the item: purchase date, price, serial number, barcode.

Five PDF lists

Inventory, insurance, packing list, box list, unpacking plan — in the language you have set.

One photo is enough

Image recognition suggests name, category and description. You decide what is taken over — nothing is saved unasked.

  • Several items in one photo: each gets its own crop
  • Whole batches of photos run in one pass
  • Receipts are read out including their line items
  • A cabinet photo becomes a layout suggestion that you refine in the editor
  • Barcodes can be scanned and looked up

The AI features belong to the paid tiers. If you do not want them at all, switch AI processing off in your profile — then no photo leaves the server towards the AI service.

Move without guessing

The assistant guides you through four steps: set up, create boxes, pack, unpack.

The plan stays a plan. Packing and unpacking in the assistant does not change your inventory — only when you press “Pack now” do the items really move into the boxes. Until then you can throw everything over.

Your things are nobody else’s business

Photos stored encrypted

Stored on the server with AES-256-GCM and decrypted for you only when retrieved.

AI can be switched off

In your profile under “Privacy & account”. After that no photo goes to the AI service any more.

Frequently asked questions

What is soord®?

An inventory manager for items and places. You create items, assign them to places, add photos — and find them again.

How deeply can I nest places?

As deeply as you like: house → basement → shelf → drawer. A tree dropdown showing the hierarchy helps you pick.

How do I find something again?

Through the search box on the “Items” and “Places” pages. The search covers name, category and description and ignores case — “KITCHEN” also finds “Kitchen”.

Are my photos stored?

Photos sit encrypted on the server (AES-256-GCM) and are decrypted for you only when retrieved. For an AI analysis a downscaled version is sent to the AI service — only when you trigger the analysis.

Can I switch the AI off?

Yes. Under “Profile” → “Privacy & account” you can refuse AI processing. After that no photos are sent to the AI service any more.

What does soord cost?

Getting started is free. Above that there are the Home, Pro, Team and Business tiers with higher limits and extended features. The exact scope of your tier is shown in your account.

Does the moving assistant move my things?

Not by itself. Packing and unpacking are pure planning at first; your inventory stays unchanged until you explicitly choose “Pack now”.

Can I get at my data?

At any time. In your profile everything can be downloaded as JSON (GDPR Art. 20), and the account can be deleted irrevocably (Art. 17).

Are there apps for iOS and Android?

Usable in the browser on computer, tablet and smartphone. Apps for iOS and Android will follow.

Do you know where your cordless screwdriver is?
